Collocation Method using Compactly Supported Radial Basis Function for Solving Volterra's Population Model

‎In this paper‎, ‎indirect collocation approach based on compactly supported radial basis function (CSRBF) is applied for solving Volterra's population model. The method reduces the solution of this problem to the solution of a system of algebraic equations‎. ‎Volterra's model is a non-linear integro-differential equation where the integral term represents the effect of toxin‎. ‎To solve the pr...

Compactly Supported Distributional Solutions of Nonstationary Nonhomogeneous Reenement Equation

Let A be a matrix with the absolute values of all eigenvalues strictly larger than one, and let Z 0 be a subset of Z such that n 2 Z 0 implies n + 1 2 Z 0. Denote the space of all compactly supported distributions by D 0 , and the usual convolution between two compactly supported distributions f and g by f g.

On linear independence of integer shifts of compactly supported distributions

Linear independence of integer shifts of compactly supported functions plays an important role in approximation theory and wavelet analysis. In this note we provide a simple proof for two known characterizations of linear independence of integer shifts of a finite number of compactly supported distributions on R. By l(Z) we denote the space of all complex-valued sequences v = {v(k)}k∈Zd : Z → C...
